Photography and Social Media Policies

(derived from the American Association for the Advancement of Science; https://meetings.aaas.org/policies/)

Event Photography Policy

Attendance at, or participation in, NAPDC conferences and events constitutes consent to the use and distribution by NAPDC of the attendee’s image or voice for informational, publicity, promotional, and/or reporting purposes in print or electronic communications media. Video recording by participants and other attendees during any portion of the conference or event is not allowed without prior written permission of NAPDC.

Social Media Policy

Live-tweeting and sharing of content on social media is welcomed as a way to spread information throughout social networks. For Twitter, please consider including the NAPDC account @agdatacoop.

Please note that NAPDC conference content is under embargo until the time of the scientific session, poster session, or lecture. Therefore, the substantive research content of events (i.e., the “news punch lines”) should be communicated online only when that research information is presented, during the scientific session or conference.

If a meeting speaker does not wish to have his/her/their research shared by Twitter, Facebook, or other social networks, he/she/they should make an announcement before and during his/her presentation. Courtesy in communications is encouraged by NAPDC.

Concerns and questions about this policy should be directed to NAPDC staff at agdatacoop@unl.edu
